Gratefully, President-elect Obama seems to have realized that to govern our great nation, he must do so from the center and not from the extreme left. Let's hope his selection of economic advisors is a precursor to what we might expect in other critical areas. To this end, he is to be congratulated. But before we get too far down the road, even if he governs from the center we will have our challenges. The cautionery thoughts arise when we look at what is staring back at us economically, fiscally, and socially. It isn't a pretty sight and any tendancy to move away from conservative economic principles, free market policies, principles of freedom and liberty upon which our nation was founded, and traditional family-centric social values, is another step closer to the demise of that which matters; a nation governed by the people, grounded in natural and moral law, and where the government is subordinate to the people. Our national budgets have only been worth the paper they are written on, which isn't much. We risk our nation with each step of more government largesse and intercession. Enough!
Mitt, our lonely eyes turn to you.
Mitt's proposed course for the Big 3 domestic automakers is spot on, as is his suggested role for government in this crisis. May his wisdom prevail upon the hearts of the policy makers! It comes down to understanding the natural constants and principles that are unchangeable within our respective society, be it business, legislative, executive, communty, family and self, and living within the bounds thereof. Our capacity to do whatever is required is magnified when we abide by and apply these constants and/or principles.
Notwithstanding, may each of you enjoy a wonderful and fulfilling Thanksgiving. We are off on holiday for the next couple of weeks and look forward to future dialong.

You are correct, President-elect Obama must use care and caution in dealing with a sluggish economy. This is no time to start raising taxes on anyone. First the housing market must be stabilized and at the same time jobs must be created through economic incentives. The Federal Government must operate more efficiently. The same for state agencies. A tough order to say the least. A united effort by Dems and Repubs is essential. It all begins with restoring confidence in financial and housing markets. Thanks for another great post.
I agree with Steven... more jobs created thru ECONOMIC incentives, NOT Govt. jobs created by the Govt. And it IS ALL about consumer confidence. What if Obama appointed Romney to help straighten out this mess. I bet that would restore some confidence! It'd never happen, though.

Im sure Gov. Romney would have jumped at the chance to serve his country as a top economic adviser. I too doubt that he was ever considered. Gov. Romney would have had plenty to offer the Obama administration. Romney knows business and Romney knows how government works. He would have been the perfect man for the job as Chief Economic Adviser to the President. Our nation would have been better off with Mitt's keen and logical input.
I keep hoping that the author of this blog will continue to make a post from time to time. I have truely been educated by someone with a wealth of knowledge and common sense. Please consider doing a timely post on business, government, and/or economic issues. I for one value your opinions and your sage advice. Thank you.
Again, I agree with Steven. I did have this blog on my bloglist, but took it off, because of the 'Congratulations, Obama' caption that remained below it for so long...I know the spirit and tone of that post, but I didn't want to give my readers a false idea that I supported that sentiment...it'll be back as soon as a new story is posted!
